Adele Reeves Smith

Adele Reeves Smith, 90, of Port Neches, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 in Beaumont. Adele was born in Port Neches on July 26, 1927 to the late, Harvey C. Reeves and Zeffa McMinn Reeves. Adele loved to play the piano, bird watching, gardening and traveling.

Adele is survived by her two daughters, Janice Ward and her husband, Gary of Grecia, Costa Rica and Nancy Bedair and her husband, Andrew of Port Neches; grandchildren, Brett Bedair, Jason Bedair and Bridget Schneider; great grandchildren, Jonah Bedair, Madison Bedair, Clayton Yates, Emily Bedair and Colson Bedair.

In addition to her parents, Adele is preceded in death by her husband, Talmage G. Smith, Jr.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The funeral service will be on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home with Dr. Jason Martin officiating. The interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
