Adrian was born February 5, 1929 in Port Arthur, Texas and attended Thomas Jefferson High School Class of 1948. He was the son of Dave Madison Montgomery and Ora Dea Asher. His brother was Albert Asher Montgomery (passed) and his sister is Madlyn Montgomery Maley Cale of Marshall, Texas. Adrian was married to Betty JoAnn Cunningham (passed) of Champaign, Illinois on Dec 1, 1950. They had two children, sons Adrian Jr. and wife JoAnne of Katy, Texas and David and wife Diana of Bainbridge Island, Washington. Six grandchildren: Ryan Montgomery and wife Andrea of Charlotte, North Carolina; Lt. Grant Montgomery and wife Rachael of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Kyle Montgomery and wife Esmeralda of Layayette, Indiana; Alan Montgomery and wife Carrie of Louisville, Kentucky; Miles and Claire Montgomery of Bainbridge Island, Washington. Four step grandchildren: Erin and wife Pam of Allen, Texas and Andrew, Larsen, and Cameron of Katy, Texas. Four great-grandchildren. Elijah, Mary, Zelie, and Eliana He was uncle to three women: Pam Maley Lindley, De Ann Maley Grigsby of Marshall, Texas and Jo Lynn Maley Fleming (passed) and their seven children. Adrian served the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. Adrian was medically retired from Jefferson Chemical refinery of Groves, Texas in 1974. He was a lifelong resident of Groves and then Kirbyville, Texas. Adrian lived for the last two years at the Grace Care Center of Katy, Texas where he passed after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas (409.962.4455) on Friday October 15, 2010 at 2pm. A visitation for family and friends will begin at noon Friday until service time. Graveside ceremony will be Saturday October 16 at 10am at the Antioch Cemetery in Buna, Texas Adrian was a Master Mason of the Nathan Corley Lodge at Kirbyville, Texas and member of Groves Masonic Lodge #1315. Adrian was always interested in motorcycles and specifically the Harley Davidson brand. He loved having his grandkids and nieces up to his property to ride the go cart, ride the golf carts and feed the horses. His favorite afternoon was watching the kids and drinking coffee with Raymond and Dennis. Occasionally a tall tale was told. He will always be remembered for his love of family and his display of courage. Courage, to never complain throughout his life of disability and challenge. Honorary pall bearers: Dennis Busby and Dr. John Sessions both of Kirbyville, Charles Cale, Brad Grigsby, and Jim Lindley all of Marshall, Texas, Dallas Domingue, Carroll Resweber, and Joel Levingston all of Groves.
