Agnes Vernell Deslatte, 74 of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Agnes Vernell was born May 7, 1937 in Paint Rock, Texas to Claby Vernon Allgood and Agnes Humphries Allgood. She was a lifelong area resident and member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Deslatte; and great-grandson Seth Daniel McIntyre. Survivors include her two daughters, Karan Kay Shoemaker and husband, Randy of Groves, and Angie Gay Adams and husband, Frank of Groves; one sister, Dorothy Maxine Patin and husband, Les of Orange; four grandchildren, Tommy Shoemaker and wife Ronda, Brooke Manuel and husband, Scotty, Krystal McIntyre and husband, Adam, Lindsay Freeman and husband, John; six great-grandchildren; and her extended family, Scooter Landreth and wife, Donna. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Adam McIntyre of Southside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
