Agnes Rogers Stockman, 104, formerly of Port Arthur passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Heritage Nursing Home in Quitman, Texas. Agnes was born November 2, 1909 in Pollack, Louisiana to William E. Rogers and Minnie Lou Couch Rogers. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband of 81 years, Reverend Alvin B. Stockman, Sr. Before moving to Texas she was a longtime resident of Forest Hill, Louisiana. She was also a member of Frist Baptist Church of Alba and former member of Procter Baptist Church in Port Arthur. Agnes is survived by three daughters, Jewel Irby of Colmesneil, TX, Martha Taylor and husband David of Golden, TX, Lucy Havard and husband Guy of Baton Rouge, LA; one son, Alvin Stockman, Jr. and wife Lorena of Nederland, TX; one sister, Elaine Baudry of Shreveport, La; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Rick Erwin officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

My Aunt Agnes was a wonderful loving person. as far back as my memories go , when we would go visit her and Alvin she would always treat us a family member... Jim ,Me , Danny and Lonnie always looked forward to the visit with Her and hers... Love always W.E. Rogers
