Agnes M. Totten, 99, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021. Agnes was born March 3, 1922, in Coteau, Louisiana to John and Marie Doré.
Agnes was a life-long resident of Port Arthur and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Catherine Altar Society and the American Business Women’s Association. Agnes was co-owner of Totten Cleaners and Totten Laundromat in Port Arthur. She was devoted to her faith and family. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Agnes was an angel on earth who was kind to everyone.
Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, John Doré and Marie Rose Pellerin Doré; husband, Henry Arthur Totten, Sr.; daughter, Judy Totten Reynolds; son-in-law, Tyrone Reynolds; sisters, Rena Doré Huval, Eula Doré Thibodeaux; brothers, Herman Joseph Doré and Raymond Paul Doré.
Those left behind to cherish Agnes’ memory are her children, Janis Totten Miller; Henry A. Totten, Jr. and his wife, Candy; grandchildren, Cheryl Arlott, Keith Reynolds and his wife, Christi, Cindy Landry and her husband, Jason, Clark Smith and his wife, Lori, Glenn Smith and his wife, Dana, Gerald Smith, Henry Totten, III and his wife, Kelley, and Heath Totten; great grandchildren, Klara Pilling, Henry Totten IV, Sophia Totten, Kendall Smith, Christopher Smith, Aubree Totten, Jacob Landry and his wife, Marissa, Spencer Landry, Jacob Albin, Eli Albin, Owen Albin, Witen Albin, Noah Smith, Alex Arlott, Hannah Arlott, Madison Reynolds, Blake Chamberlin and her husband, Clayton, Macy Reynolds, Madison Reynolds, Glenn Smith Jr., and Josh Smith; great-great grandchild, Jasper Smith; sister, Jeanette Theresa Doré Viator.

A Christian Vigil will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
