Hugh Alan Major, 60, of Beaumont, passed away Tuesday May 31, 2016.

Hugh was born November 30,1955 in New Orleans, LA to the late Paul Leo and Ramona Klein Major. He was a carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Mary East; sons, Michael Major and wife Nicole of Wylie, TX, Joshua Major and wife Lorena of LaBelle, TX; daughter, Nancy Major of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 4 Grandchildren; sisters, Betty Kost of Seattle, WA, Becky Roemer of Beaumont, TX; brother, Steve Major of Beaumont, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends.

There will be a gathering of family and friends Saturday June 4, 2016 from 12:00pm till 2pm, with the funeral service beginning at 2pm at Melancons Funeral Home.

Just heard the news. My condolences and prayers go out to the family! So many wonderful memories from our childhood. I remember Alan as one of the happiest friends of my teenage years. We lived down the street from each other and I spent many fun times playing at the Major's house. When I married and moved away we lost touch. I know he will be missed by those closest to him! Time and distance can never erase the wonderful memories.
