Albert "Gene" Barker

Albert “Gene” Barker, 90 of Nederland, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Gene was born on August 15, 1931 in Crawford, Tennessee to the late, B. Lee Barker and Sarah England Barker.
Gene was a member of the Assembly of God Church and served his country proudly in the United States Army. Gene enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, working on cars and was also a gun enthusiast.
Those left to cherish Gene’s memory include his daughter Brenda Thibeaux and her husband, Gayllan of Nederland, Texas; sons, Dennis Barker and his wife, Sharon of Nashville, Tennessee, and Greg Barker of Nederland, Texas; grandchildren, Kim Barker, Justan Thibeaux, Lindsey Hanley, Austan Thibeaux, Jonathan Barker, Jeffrey Barker, Jennifer Robertson and Johanna Justice, great-grandchildren, Jude Thibeaux, Jade Thibeaux, Josiah Hanley, Brock Barker, Brody Barker, Kowen Barker, McKenzie Robertson, Kayleigh Kyles, Hunter Viator, Sophie Justice, Emorie Justice, Wyatt Justice and Beau Justice,
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, B. Lee Barker and Sarah England Barker and his son, Michael Barker.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland, Texas immediately following the gathering.
