Albert Reese Jr. 72 of Nederland, died Sunday February 2, 2014 at his residence in Nederland. Albert was born January 22, 1942 to the late Albert Reese Sr. and Nellie Ruth Jones in Beaumont and lived 47 years in Nederland. Albert retired from the City of Nederland as a Heavy Equipment operator with 28 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. Albert also enjoyed dancing at Larry’s Cajun Restaurant in Groves.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Msgr. Dan Malain officiating with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Melancon’s in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.

Albert is survived by his wife, Laura Fay Reese of Nederland; two sons, Kirt Reese and his wife Tammy of Groves, and Keith Reese and his wife Renee of Port Acres; one grandson Troy Reese; two brothers, Robert Reese of Sulfur, Louisiana, and John Wayne Cormier of Houston; two sisters, Barbara Thibodeaux of Houston, and Wanda Sue Walker of Silsbee.

Many memories from the time I used to babysit Kirt and Keith while Junior & Fay went out dancing. Then I married Fay's cousin, Bubba, and again was right back into their lives. Junior would always wait for me to drive by and honk. If I did not honk, I would hear from him the next time I saw him. We had many good times at Mill's Creek. The one that sticks out most was when Junior and Bubba started drinking homemade wine and were so drunk it was pitiful. Also, Junior used to pick up Clarissa and take her to Dairy Queen for ice cream. He will be definitely missed!
