Albert Leroy Stephson

Albert “Big Al” Stephson, 87, of Groves, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Paul Methodist Church in Bridge City, Texas.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at St. Paul Methodist Church in Bridge City, Texas.

He was born in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, on November 8, 1935, he was the son of Clark and Catherine Stephson. He joined the United States Navy and went on to fight in the Korean War. Once he was out of the Navy, he went to work in a warehouse for Huntsman Refinery where he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanie Stephson, and his sister, Rose Ellen Schaffer.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammie Fowler and her husband Keith of Groves, TX; sons, Alan Stephson and his wife Lisa of Groves, TX; Doug Stephson and his wife Rose of Orange, TX; nine grandchildren, Rachel Morse and her husband Steve; Amanda Pringle and her husband Jeff; Megan Davenport and her husband Braden; Summer Barnes and her husband Tristian; Blake Stephson; Brandi Lovelace and her husband Brandon; Chelsey Gallier and her husband Chance; Faith Placette and her husband Luke; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Clark Stephson and his wife Mary as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends

Mr.Stephson what a pleasure it was to have spent the time I got with you. I will always remember and cherish the moments we did share. You would melt my heart each and everytime you would smile at me when I would walk into the room and you realized I was there. I know your dancing in heaven and your watching over us. Dad you was one of the hardest workers I ever known. Anytime I needed help with any issues with my vehicle or house you was always ready to help. You are my hero and now my Angel. I love you and I miss you. I know God needed you, and I know you are dancing in heaven watching over all us.....

Uncle AL . I love you and miss you so very much! I enjoyed every second that I sat with you for the past 8 months. All those trips to Houston VA, Making our trip on the way home and stopping at Buckees. I laughed so hard , because you always made me try on COWBOY hats I will always keep memories of all the days we spent togather.. Oh what fun we had when we snuck off to the Casino!!
