Alec Christian Theriot, 31, of Port Arthur, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2025. Born on January 11, 1994, in Nederland, Alec was a cherished son, brother, grandson, and friend whose absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Alec was a graduate of Nederland High School Class of 2012, and attended Lamar University in Beaumont, where he laid the foundation for his career. He was a dedicated employee with the Texas Department of Corrections, serving as a Sergeant at the Stiles Unit. His commitment to his job and his fellow co-workers was evident, as he was known for his reliability, responsibility, and strong work ethic. Alec approached challenges with humor, always managing to light up even the most difficult of situations. He was the kind of person everyone could turn to, offering support, compassion, and understanding.
Outside of his professional life, Alec had a zest for living and a passion for food; he was never one to turn down a good meal. His personality was loving, caring, and patient, and he embodied a strong sense of patriotism.
Alec is survived by his parents, Kimberly Medrano and her husband Gabriel of Nederland, and Terry Theriot, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Port Arthur. He is also survived by his grandparents, Terry Theriot, Sr. and Beverley Theriot, Rebecca Carr, and Nathaniel Youman. His siblings, Simone Theriot, Aaron Medrano, Gabrielle Medrano, and Kristina Theriot, will carry forward his memory as they navigate life without him. Alec is additionally survived by his uncles, Paul Carr and his wife, Alita, and Wade Adair and his wife, Caroline, and his fiancé, Ashley Moore.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alvin Roshto, and grandmother, Ruby Steagall, great grandparents, Albert and Corinne Carr and Pauli and Lena Roshto.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary to begin at 5:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves located at 5601 39th St, Groves, TX 77619. A Mass Celebrating Alec's Life will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, located at 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, TX 77627.
Alec Christian Theriot will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the positive impact he made on the lives of those around him. He leaves a legacy of love that will continue to resonate in the hearts of family and friends alike.
