Alice Branson Alice Branson, 80, of Port Arthur passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Lake Arthur Nursing Home. She was born on August 11, 1935 in Taylor, Texas to Albert Leroy Marlow and Clara Mae Evans Marlow. Alice had lived in this area for 56 years and was a member of the United Methodist Temple, Alpha Delta Kappa (Teachers Fraternity) and the Nederland Professional Lion's Club. She was retired as an algebra teacher from Lamar State College in Port Arthur. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with Reverend Guy Williams officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Alice is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arthur E. Branson of Port Arthur, two sons, David Branson and wife, Elise of Ft. Collin, CO and James Branson of Friendswood, TX and two grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew Branson.

My thoughts are with the Branson family. Mrs. Branson taught me math, one of my favorite subjects, years ago in Port Arthur I.S.D. She was a great math teacher who I appreciated very much.
