Alice Joyce “Sis” Gaspard, 90 years of age, passed on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. A long time residence of Port Neches. Joyce/Sis was born May 30, 1929 in Kaplan, Louisiana to Clesmay Matthews and Louise (LeBlanc) Matthews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Oliver “OJ” Gaspard, her parents, her brother, Raymond Matthews and grand son-in-law, Justin D. Jackson.
Survivors include sons Dennis (Lisa) and Chris Gaspard, daughters Sharon (David) McGill and Delaina (Glen) Gaspard. Her granddaughters Denise (Joel) Bennett, Laura (Scott) Martin, Lisa (John) Verinder, Britni (Blake) Lyons, and Lindsey Jackson (Derek Linney), grandsons Aaron (Becca), Cody (Adrienne), Kyle, Trey (Kaleigh), and Alex (Paige) Gaspard. Also, 9 great grandsons and 5 great granddaughters.
She was a self-employed tax preparer “Gaspard’s Tax Service” for many years. She loved dancing, games and family gatherings. Most of all, she loved her family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Father John Hughes celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
