Allyne Lyda

Allyne Lyda, 91, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Monday, August 20, 2012. Allyne was born October 17, 1920 in Bridgeport, Alabama to Thomas Joyner and Sallie Guess Joyner. She was a resident of the Port Arthur area for over 70 years and member of Procter Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 1/2 years, William "Bill" Lyda; her siblings, Juanita Joyner Mayo, Sally Joyner Root, Thomas Joyner and Doris Faye Joyner. Survivors include her son, Dean Lyda and wife, Roxanne of Port Neches; two grandchildren, Wendy Lyda Castille and husband Jerret, Jamie Lyda Hinson and husband Tim; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Castille, Ally Castille, Ethan Hinson, and Chelsea Hinson. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Dr. Rick Erwin officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Debbie Deitrich and the staff of Wee Care in Groves for their excellent care and friendship during this past year.
