Alma Lois "Kitty" Lee, 95, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Promise Hospital in Nederland, Texas. Kitty was born October 4, 1914 in Moscow, Texas to David Grundy Hays and Genie Burgess Hays. She was an area resident for 76 years and longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Groves. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church of Groves with Reverend Alan Van Hooser officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Singleton Lee, Jr. and son, Jerry Dale Lee. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Minaldi of Nederland, Texas; sister, Helen Vela of New Waverly, Texas; two grandchildren, Tara Lee Fitzgibbon of Burnsville, North Carolina and Justin Dale Lee of Dallas, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Jack Travis Lee, Haven Jude Lee, Jenna Lee and Jordan Lee. Beverly, I will miss my beautiful, Aunt Kitty...she was truly a very special person to so many people. I will always remember staying at her house as a child...very special memories. My heart and prayers are wtih you and your family.
