Alton Sterling Chapman, age 84, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Gulf Health Care Center in Port Arthur. He was born on November 21, 1930 in Grapeland, Texas to the late Robert L. Chapman and Norine Valentine Urspung. He served our country proudly in the United States Air Force and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Alton retired after 34 years of service at Texaco as a Telegraph Operator.

Alton is survived by his sons, Alton Chris Chapman of Nederland, Glenn Bates Chapman and his wife, Royce of Port Neches, and Don Farian Chapman of Nederland; grandchildren, Lauren Chapman of Orange and Ryan Chapman of Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Cary Alan Chapman.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
