Alvin John Guidry, Sr., 95, of Port Neches passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born on January 28, 1923 in Port Neches, Texas to Andrew Guidry and Olivia Boudreaux Guidry. Alvin was a lifelong Port Neches resident and retired from Texaco as a pipefitter. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Port Neches Knights of Columbus #2461. Alvin was a United States Army veteran proudly serving his country during World War II. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Reverend Shane Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with a rosary service to begin at 6:00 p.m. Alvin is survived by his wife of 75 years, Annie Guidry of Port Neches, three daughters, Carolyn Sue Spooner and husband Mark of Canyon Lake, TX, Peggy Swafford and husband Mike of Port Neches, TX, and Debbie Bryant and husband Greg of Canyon Lake, TX, son, Alvin "Bubbie" Guidry and wife Carol of Port Neches, TX, six grandchildren, Erich Paul Guidry, Sommer Lester and husband Michael, Brady Guidry, Sunshine Burke and husband Brad, Casey Swafford and wife Melissa and Chelsi Carter and husband Bryson, and eight great grandchildren, Lexington Lester, Layla Habash, Julian Habash, Katelynn Swafford, Drew Swafford, Johnny Swafford, Britton Carter and Madden Carter.
