Amanda Arvizo, 55, of Nederland was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 16, 2022, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Amanda was born January 10, 1967, in Groves, Texas to Lydia and Lirio Medrano.
Amanda was a member of Acts II Ministries and very involved with the Acts II Ministries home missions. She had a heart full of love and shared that love with everyone she encountered. Amanda always saw the good in everyone. She had a unique laugh that was contagious that put smiles on everyone’s faces. Amanda loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, her worship and praise was evident of that.
Amanda was preceded in death by her mother, Lydia Aldaiz Medrano and father, Lirio Lopez Medrano, Sr.
Those left to cherish Amanda’s memory are her beloved husband of 37 years, Oscar Arvizo of Nederland; daughters, Jessica Arvizo and Daniell Arvizo; grandson, Clayson Cole Chappell; siblings, Gloria Garcia, David Medrano, Sylvia Olney, Joe Edward Medrano, Lirio Medrano, Jr., Rose Marie Maldonado, Herlinda Sandoval, Gabriel Medrano, Norma Jean Semones, Oralia Beller, Virginia Garcia, Emilia Ceja, and Esmeralda Lynn.
Serving as pallbearers for Amanda include Gabriel Jones, Damasio Perez, Richard LeDay, Gerald Cerda, Robert Beller, Samuel Arvizo, Dezmond Barlow, Juan Jose Cardenas, Jr., Robert Beller and Jose Luis Garcia.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, September 23, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Celebration of Life Service for Amanda will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
