Andrew Kevin Kitchens, 58, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2022.
Andrew (Andy) was born on September 19, 1964 in Port Arthur, Texas to Ed and Jean Kitchens. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High school in 1983.
In 1989, Andy started his offshore drilling career where he advanced through the ranks from Ballast Control Operator on the Zapata Neptune all the way up to Marine Operations Manager at Rowan Drilling. He obtained his Offshore Installation Manager License along his career advancement path.
His successful career in offshore drilling began from his childhood love of spending time on the water at Toledo Bend Lake. Andy's Toledo Bend camp house was a special place for him, where he liked to spend time birdwatching and managing his land. When Andy was not working offshore, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on classic cars, motorcycles, boating, and listening to classic rock 'n roll.
Andy is preceded in death by his father Captain Edward Kitchens and mother Emma Jean Kitchens.
Andy is survived by his children, Andrew Kitchens, II and wife Leah, Nicole Kristynik and husband Ryan, Patrick Kitchens and fiance Meagan McDermott; his grandchildren, Charles Kitchens, Jaxon Lewis, Jameson Kitchens, and Charlotte Kitchens; and his brothers, Earl Kitchens, Jr. and wife Sandra, John Kitchens and wife Donna, and Richard Kitchens.
A private graveside ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 6th, 2022 at 12:30pm where he will be laid to rest at Oak Bluff Memorial Park at 618 Block Street, Port Neches, TX 77751.
If sending flowers, please send to Melancon’s Funeral Home at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX 77627 by November 5th, 2022.
Special thanks to all who helped Andy be comforted in love and companionship in his final days before he was called home.
