Andrus Adams, 96 of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Andrus was born August 4, 1917 in Kaplan, Louisiana to Polite Adams and Angela Meaux Adams. He was a resident of the Groves-Port Arthur area for 62 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He retired as a welder from Gulfport Shipyard after many years of service. He was also a member of Cajun Club CFMA and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Una Marie Adams of Groves, TX; three daughters, Laura J. Soto and husband Tony of Pasadena, TX, Kathleen Fawvor and husband Curtis of Port Arthur, TX, Theresia A. Soliz and husband Roy of Port Arthur, TX; three sisters, Annie Mae Stouts of Crowley, LA, Shirley Prejean of Crowley, LA, Laura Adams of Lake Charles, LA; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend D. Stephen McCrate officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary Service at the funeral home.

My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the family of Mr. Adams. I met Him and his wife years ago at the Rodair Club and enjoyed their sense of humor--great couple and I know he will be missed. God Bless All

So very sorry for the loss of Mr Adams. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. I am so glad I brought my Dad to visit him when he was doing well. May God walk you thru this time of sorrow.

To my wonderful grandfather who will be dearly missed always loved and never forgotten...i have sooooo many great memories but the best ones are me staying the summer with yall and u comimg home from work and never being to tired to take me to the sno cone place or taco bell!! I had great summers with yall...im sorry as i got older i lost track in my own busy life and never stopped by as much as i should have please forgive me...till we meet again and i know we will give my daddy my love and tell him i love him and u very much. I will always look back at the times when you visited mom & dad. I could always see how family was important part of your life,At one time when you stayed with us I felt I would never get to use the bathroom because you spent so much time in it prepping up, rest in peace my Uncle and I hope your room is full of company and Cajun music.
