Andy Harrison Ayers

Andy “Ace” Harrison Ayers, 68, of Groves, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, at The Medical Center of SETX in Port Arthur.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending his free time grilling or fishing. Andy was a friend to everyone and would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it.

He is survived by his two daughters, Andrea Cormier and husband Brett of Port Neches, TX; and Alyssa Ayers and husband Dennis of Groves, TX; two grandchildren, Emma, and Owen Cormier; sister, Jolynda Ayers Loeb and husband Jerry of Village Mills, TX; nephews, Brian Byrom and Clint Byrom; niece, Kristen Loeb Williams, and their families.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Operation Red Wings Foundation: an organization providing veterans and their families with a path to healing from their invisible wounds.

Jolynda, I'm so sorry for your loss. I had so much fun with Andy playing football and baseball across the street from your house. He's the one who introduced me to Mike Keeney. Andy was bigger than me and afraid to tackle him, but stupid me tackled him and still survived. Even though I lost contact with him through the years, he was still the same old Andy when I ran into him several years ago at Walmart. I think he died too young; but so did Monty Hanks and Mike Keeney. All I know is that God is still in charge. Please accept my condolences. They may be late, but I still can't believe he's gone. Sincerely, Craig Sexton

I have known Andy "ACE" since back in the roller rink days, Ace was the Best Skater in the whole Roller rink! There was 2 roller rinks back then, Wilson's and Barney's, that was the good old days! We would meet up on a Friday Nite, and Ace was always the first one in line to get in, carrying his own personal skates! You never attempted to try and beat him and his bud in the Monkey Race. He could skate better backwards than I could skate forwards! He will be Dearly missed and not forgotten, he was a hell of a skater and pipe fitter, and a very outspoken friend, to all that new him. We always new when Ace was around! Rest in Peace my Brother, Miss Ya! Blayne Savoy & Family

When I enrolled in PNG High School as a senior in 1972 Andy was the first person to reach out and develops a friendship with me. We had a lot of good times that year. And any time I was able to be around him we laughed and talked as if we were around each other everyday. I love you brother and will miss you!
