Anita Broussard, 94, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Anita was born August 8, 1922 in Abbeville, Louisiana to Didier Meaux and Josephine Gisclair Meaux. Anita was a resident of this area for 77 years and longtime member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. She retired from the Port Arthur ISD after 20 years of service as a custodian. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Oran Joseph Broussard; daughter, Frances Hebert; son, Gerald Broussard; six siblings; and great-granddaughter, Avery Anne Guerra. Survivors include her son, Rodney Broussard and his wife Debbie of Port Arthur; nine grandchildren, Bryan Broussard, Spencer Broussard, Tiffany Broussard, Michael Broussard, Danael Broussard, Jordan Broussard, Jeremy Rodriguez, Jared Rodriguez, Jennifer Rodriguez, and eleven great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday, June 23, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Reverend J. C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A special thank you to Elsa Gonzales and her daughters, and Century Hospice for their care and compassion.
