Anita Marie Huval, 83, of Dayton formerly of Port Arthur passed away October 30, 2013. She was born in Port Arthur on April 28, 1930 to the late Ferdnand Hebert and Sadie Domingue Mayhew. She was a retired secretary for Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission. Anita was a member and Eucharistic minister for Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur and also a member of the Cajun Choir.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Father T. R. Blanco celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Sunday, November 3, 2013 with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Nary Joseph Huval, Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Julie Jenny and husband, Chuck of Dayton and Cindy Bockius and husband, Larry of Scottsdale, Arizona; her son, Nary “Jay” Huval, Jr. and wife, Linda of Milton, Florida; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.
