Anna Belle Arabie Lavergne, 87, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Anna was born on October 7, 1935 in Church Point, Louisiana to the late Lawrence Arabie, Sr. and Rena Dies Arabie.
Anna was a parishioner at St. Therese, the Little Flowers of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Arthur and a faithful servant to her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Anna was a homemaker and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She had a kind and loving personality that could put a smile on anyone’s face. Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and her daughter’s best friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left behind to cherish Anna’s memory are her daughter, Shelia DeJohn; her grandchildren, Brandy Corner, Kristina Totten, Randy Totten, Jr. and his wife, Amanda, Gerald Lavergne, Jr. and his wife, Kourtney, Kyle Sanders and his wife, Rachel, Kory Sanders, Josh Patteson, Sr.; her great grandchildren, Emma Sanders, D.J. Corner, Desirae Corner, Bryanna Castillo and her husband, Gabriel Garcia, Avery Totten, Adalynn Totten, Jayden Willis, Broxton Lavergne, Paetyn Lavergne, Josh Patteson, Jr., Jayden Patteson, Jace Patteson; her, great great grandchildren, Lily James Sanders, Leia Garcia; and her siblings, Janelle Titus and her husband Richard, Lena Ellis, Brenda Arabie and her husband, Gary Burleigh, and Edward Arabie.
Anna is preceded in death by her loving husband, Overton Lavergne; her parents, Lawrence and Rena Arabie; her son, Gerald Wayne Lavergne, Sr.; her daughter, Patricia Lavergne; and her siblings, Nolton Arabie, Henry Arabie, Carol Marie Arabie, Wilson Arabie, Lawrence Arabie, Jr., Russell Arabie, and James Arabie.
A gathering of family and friends to honor the life of Anna Belle Lavergne will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 5:30 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Arthur at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County Cemetery in Nederland.
