Annie Elizabeth Guarnere

Annie Elizabeth Guarnere, 98, of Brookeland formally of Groves, Texas passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at her residence in Brookeland, Texas.

Annie was born on December 3, 1924, in Port Arthur, Texas to Victoria Bordonaro Mirabella and Joseph Mirabella. She was a retired Branch Manager for the Republic of Texas Savings and Loan. Annie was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves and most recently St. Raymonds in Brookeland, Texas. Annie had many hobbies that she enjoyed such as sewing, cooking, walking and she loved to read. Another passion of hers was to dance with the love of her life, Nick Guarnere. They loved dancing at the K.C. Hall, at the Lake and any opportunity they could find to “cut a rug”. She loved life, family and her church. She will be missed greatly!!

Survivors include her son, David Guarnere Sr. and his wife, Pam of Port Arthur, Texas; grandchildren, Angel Contreras and her husband Jose of Groves, David Guarnere, Jr. and his wife Staci of Port Neches, Jody Morrell of Port Arthur, Kevin Morrell of Beaumont, Mark Morrell of Port Neches; great grandchildren, Cross Coburn of Beaumont, Isabella “Bella” Contreras of Groves, Greyson Guarnere and Landon Guarnere both of Port Neches; special family, Quincy Faulk and Marvin Reeves both of Groves and Buddy Elmore of Port Neches; a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Guarnere; her son, Darryl Guarnere; her daughter, Frances Morrell; sisters, Lena, Rose, and Josephine; brothers, Frank and Paul.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Immaculate Conception/St. Peters Catholic Church in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Immaculate Conception/St. Peters Catholic Church under the direction of Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland. Private Family Cremation Services will take place at a later date.
