Arland "A.J." Dupree

Arland Joe "A.J." Dupree, 85, of Nederland, Texas passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Magnolia Manor in Groves. A.J. was born February 14, 1933 in Pine Island, Louisiana to Joe Brown Dupree and Laura Lee Festervan Dupree. He was a longtime area resident and member of Nederland Masonic Lodge #1368. A. J. retired as a pipefitter from Ameripol Synpol after 29 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Brown Dupree and Laura Dupree; and great-grandson, Trevor Lee Chesson. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pauline Dupree of Nederland; daughters, Katy Dupree of Groves, Jeannie LaPoint and husband Leonard of Nederland, Audrey Kidd and husband Joe of Kingwood, and Jeannie Rebecca Dupree of Kingwood; son, Joe Ben Dupree and wife Kathy of Nederland; brother, Cecil Ray Dupree and wife Cathy of Napoleonville, LA; grandchildren, Emily Abshire, Joe Ben Dupree, Aimee Chesson, Jared Dupree, Jennifer Mann, Dillon LaPoint and Jacob Kidd; ten great-grandchildren; and his pets, Princess and Coco. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Special thank you to Magnolia Manor in Groves for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Relay for Life Jefferson County, Jeannie LaPoint Team Captain for Texas First Bank Mid County.

Mr. Dupree earned his wings as he was the type of father every boy and girl deserves on earth. Praying all the wonderful memories will give his family feelings of love and peace.
