Arlene W. Pacetti, 85, of Cape Coral, Fl. passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas. Arlene was born in Pensacola, Fl. on July 30th, 1927 to Houston and Lottie Wall. She met the love of her life, Rodney Truman Pacetti and married him in 1945. They eventually settled in Ft. Myers, Fl.
She was transported to Texas in Jan of 2012 after a car accident in Ft. Myers, Fl. on Oct 12, 2011. She lived in an assisted living home with seven residents during this time. Arlene made special friends with Eula and Debbie during her stay at Holland House. She and Eula would sit in the common area and hold hands while watching television. Mrs Eula loved for Arlene to sit next to her. Debbie, a staff member of Holland House had a "calming effect" on Arlene. Debbie would sit and stroke her hand and her hair when she got upset and Arlene would calm down with her presence. We would like to give a great big "Thank You" to Cynthia Mitchell, owner of Holland House. Cynthia has a passion of love for the elderly and would not tolerate incompetence from Hospice/Home health or her own staff when it came to caring for her residents. Rodney and I could not express or place into words our gratitude and thankfulness for the way she treated and cared for Arlene.
Arlene was an avid bridge player and recognized by The American Contract Bridge League as a "Gold Life Master".
Arlene will be missed by her surviving children, Celeste Pacetti Ford (Joe Hensley), Greg Pacetti (Marcia Trainor), Rodney Pacetti (Pam), and her grandchildren, David Ford (Stephanie), Rebecca Ford Tomasulo (Chris), Tim Ford (Sharon), Drew Ford (Beth), Kate Pacetti Ladd (Tony), Adam Pacetti (Loretta), Emily Pacetti Whitaker (Matt) and her thirteen great grandchildren, Keegan Ford, Chloe Ford, Sam Tomasulo, Amelia Tomasulo, Will Ford, Taylor Ford, Thomas Ford, Jack Ford, Peter Ford, Mia Ladd, Anthony Ladd, Gabby Pacetti, and Gwen Pacetti.
Special thanks to Cynthia Mitchell and staff at Holland House (assisted living) and those from Freedom Christian Fellowship church that supported the Pacetti family during this time.
Arlene's number one request from her children was that she be laid to rest next to her husband in Ft. Myers, Fl. A grave side ceremony at Ft. Myers Cemetery in Ft. Myers, Fl. will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Christian Fellowship, 1406 Port Neches Ave., Port Neches, Texas 77651
