Arthur Branson, 88, of Port Arthur, TX passed away peacefully on Sunday December 24, 2017 in Loveland, Colorado at the Medical Center of the Rockies due to blood clots associated with Atrial Fibrillation. Arthur was born in Port Arthur where he lived the majority of his life, until he recently relocated to Colorado to live with his son and grandsons. Arthur graduated from the University of Houston in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He served in the Korean War as part of the 7th Infantry Division of the US Army. Upon return from active duty he started his career with Gulf Oil in Port Arthur, TX and later married Alice in February of 1962. Arthur retired from Chevron as a Senior Operations Specialist in the Light Oil Department. He was involved with Boy Scout Troop 61 and several other activities with his sons. Until recently Arthur was an active member of the United Methodist Temple and participant in the Nederland Professionals Lions Club and enjoyed daily walks with his friends. He most recently enjoyed watching the Colorado wildlife and the beauty of the Rocky Mountains through the changing seasons. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents Paul Branson and Rosa Stagg, his sister Evelyn Totton and wife Alice Marlow. He is survived by his two sons, David and James and his two grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas with Reverend Sadie Brink officiating under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
