Arthur James Champagne Sr., 90, of Nederland, Texas passed away February 15, 2019. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 14, 1929 to the late Moise Paul Champagne and Theresa Catherine Ingargiola. He was an operator for B.F. Goodrich for 41 years before retiring.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Champagne of Nederland; his daughters, Karen Milliff of New Waverly, Pamela Farinella, and her husband Justin of Beaumont, Janice Burkes, and her husband Sidney of Beaumont, Laurie Watson, and her husband James of Spring, Lisa Johnson, and her husband Danny of Nederland, and Kristi Champagne of McKinney; his sons, Randall Champagne of Houston, and Kevin Champagne, and his wife Cheri of Garland; his sister, Verna LeBlanc of Belton, Missouri; his brother John Champagne of Lake Jackson; his thirteen grandchildren; and his sixteen great-grandchildren. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; his son Art Champagne Jr.; his brother Edward Champagne; and his sister Doris Webre.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with a military graveside service.
