Arthur Earl Melton, 85 of Terrell, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Arthur was born September 1, 1926 in Bear Creek, Alabama to John Alfred Melton and Una Spraggins Melton. He was a former resident of Port Arthur for 68 years and retired assistant plant manager for Texaco with 38 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ and U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Melton of Terrell, TX; son, Artie Melton and wife, Sylvia of Terrell, TX; sister, Phyillis Malherbe and husband, Abe of Hamden, CT; brother, Allen Melton and wife, Sherry of Port Neches, TX; grandchildren, Rae Melton and John Melton. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Nederland Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
