Arthur Raymond Carlisle, 94, Port Arthur, Texas passed away April 5, 2011 at Cypress Glenn Nursing Home in Port Arthur. He was born in Muscatine, Iowa on October 3, 1917 to the late Charles William and Mary Elizabeth Greene Carlisle. He was a member of the Groves United Pentecostal Church and retired from Texaco where he was a supervisor. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II.A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, Harbor Hospice Chaplain Mike Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.He is survived by his sisterinlaw, Josephine Duplantis of Port Neches 6 nieces, Alberta Olbrich and husband Raymond of Port Arthur, Lynn Torres and husband Jesse of O39Fallon, IL, Betty Achord and husband Preston of Port Arthur, Sharon Manuel and husband Howard of China, and Jan Chance and husband Rick of Groves 5 nephews, Tommy Duplantis and wife Helen of Port Arthur, James Duplantis and wife Charlotte of Houston, Jerry Duplantis of Orange, Tim Duplantis of Port Arthur, and Jackie Duplantis of Port Arthur and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years, Elaine.Serving as pallbearers are Heath Strubel, Hayden Sybert, Kohl Sybert, Dylan Willson, Dominic Broussard, and Joel Bintliff. Honorary pallbearer is Dustin Sonnenberg.The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. John H. Lee, Cathy Gohlke and staff at Harbor Hospice for the special care given to Arthur.
