In 1974, I somehow got put in charge of door to door donations for the American Cancer Society in the Port Acres area. That is how I first got truly acquainted with Audra Eaves. With her commitment to this cause, as well as the referrals that she gave me to seek out other volunteers, the people of Port Acres donated more money in that year than in any other year in the history of the American Cancer Society. Thanks to Audra and many other volunteers, I was appointed to serve as a member of the American Cancer Society's Board of Directors at age twenty. Thanks to Audra, that appointment made a good impression on my professional career over the years. Over the years, if we happened to run into each other, we would always stop and talk. I ran into her last year and we had a good conversation as usual. Thank you Audra for everything. Rest in peace sweet lady.
