Aurora Tamez, 80, of Port Arthur, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Beaumont. Aurora was born on August 10, 1936 in Monterey, Mexico to the late Bruno Ponce and Maria Carrizalez Ponce.
Aurora was survived by her sons, Gerardo Tamez and wife, Debi of Groves, Jaime Tamez of Groves, Tony Tamez and wife, Sandy of Spring, Pilo Tamez of Port Arthur, Juan Tamez and wife, Kathy of Groves and Salvador Tamez of Port Arthur; daughters, Sylvia Garcia and husband, Armando Sr. of Groves and Socorro Tamez of Port Arthur; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, May 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Kenneth Greig officiating at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, TX.
