Austin Langley, 86, of Groves, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Assisted Living Center at Magnolia Ranch. Austin was born in Laurel, Mississippi on September 5, 1930 to Hezekiah and Nettie Pearl Long Langley. His daughters, Pam Mingle of Conroe, Deborah Waddell of Beaumont, and Jennifer Albitz Langley of Houston survive him. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Meagan Pacillas of Kyle, Ryan Mingle of Nederland, Larissa Spaulding of San Antonio, Emily Albitz of Houston, Leila Wallace and Lemuel Howell of Corsicana. Loved family members also include: Pat Langley, John Morgan and Liz Morgan Mullins. His wife, Elsie Scott Langley of Groves, his brother Cecil Langley of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, his sisters Beatrice Mothershed of Bay Minette, Alabama and Voncile Stanley of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, precedes Austin in death. Austin served his country in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Korea. He retired from Gulf Oil in Port Arthur after 33 years of service and was an active member of the OCAW. Austin was a caring and giving father, and a steadfast friend. He was a volunteer in the community and was instrumental in building the Groves Activity Center. His quick wit, dry humor, verbal repartee and puns, will be missed. Austin was an avid reader, enjoyed the beach, a motorcycle enthusiast having owned several, loved riding his bicycle, and a devoted Willie Nelson fan. A visitation will be held for family and friends on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, with a memorial service immediately following at 3:00 PM at Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas 77619. The family would like to send a special thanks to Pat Langley for her love, care and devotion to Austin during this past year.
