Austin Peterson, beloved son, brother, and friend, departed this world on March 2, 2025, at the young age of 20. He was born on September 22, 2004, in Port Arthur, Texas, and attended Port Neches Groves schools where he grew into a remarkable young man known for his vibrant spirit and love for life.

Austin’s passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for camping, hunting, fishing, and crabbing, activities that brought him immense joy and memorable experiences with his family and friends. Austin enjoyed movie nights, creating lasting traditions filled with laughter and warmth.

He also enjoyed the outdoors and his memorable bonfire gatherings, which served as a backdrop for many treasured moments with loved ones. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Port Neches, where he fostered a sense of community and connection with those around him.

Austin is survived by his mother, Christy Peterson of Port Neches; his father, Kevin Peterson of Port Neches; his grandparents, Jim and Bonnie Peterson of Port Neches, and Denny Koons, Sr. of Port Neches; his brothers, Dylan Roberts, Gage Peterson, Presley Peterson, and Keegan Pietz; his sister, Daisy Peterson; his uncle Joe Peterson and his wife Jeni of Port Neches; his uncle Denny Koons, Jr. and his wife Mandi of Colorado; and his aunt Amy Williams and her husband Ron of Mauriceville.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rhonda Koons, and his uncle Jason Koons. Austin’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by everyone whose lives he touched.
