Barbara was married to Bert Black for fifty-five years. She loved her three daughters and their families: Renae Randall, and husband John, Laurie Frasier, and Debbie Robison, and husband, Rod. She was Mimi to Lauren Truss-Hall, Daren Frasier, Katie Elms, Kyleigh Randall, Rodney and Dusty Robison, Danielle Peterson, Rachel Odom, Roxanne Scarborough, and Destiny Padgett. She had 19 great grandchildren, all of whom put a sparkle in her life.
Barbara was the daughter of RL and Laura Burns and grew up in Port Arthur. She graduated from TJ High School and was later instrumental in the organization of many class reunions. She loved spending summers in Louisiana with her cousins. She spent most of her life in Bridge City where she was a homemaker and greatly enjoyed kid performances, get together’s with the family, teaching Bible classes, making costumes, doing crafts, going out with the Lunch Bunch, working in her yard, helping with Disaster Relief, and enjoying life with her friends. She was a member of the Bridge City Church of Christ.
The family is especially appreciative of the love and care she received over four years at Silsbee Oaks. She taught her family to love and serve God and her smile lit up the many rooms she entered all her life. Mimi was a wonderful and special gift to everyone's heart!
