Barbara “Bobbie” Morris Maceiras, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loving sister passed away September 8, 2020 at Gulf Health Care Center with family holding her close. Bobbie was born September 13, 1938 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the late Ford & Evie Morgan. During her life she enjoyed working with her garden, tending flowers and loved spending time with her family. She attended Latterain Ministries; the weekly bible studies and fellowship with friends and family meant the world to her. We all remember her favorite fur-baby, Zaza, they were never a part and words cannot describe the joy she brought Bobbie all those years.
Those left to cherish Bobbie’s memory are her daughter, Barbara Staton, of Port Acres; grandchildren Miranda Mulkey and her husband Jerry Mulkey, Sam Morris, Noelle Walters and her husband Jared Walters, Ben Staton and Shelby Ware; great-grandchildren Rylee, Evie, Ellie, Delilah and Allesandra who all knew her as Maw Maw Chicken; sisters Betty Harris and Joyce Kelly; and her brother Ray Morgan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobbie is proceeded in death by her parents; husbands, Alvin Art Morris and Joseph Maceiras; son, Steven Morris; brother, Lamar Morgan; sisters, Nira Strain and Vicki Reagon.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Bobbie’s birthday Sunday, September 13th, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches.
