Barbara Hebert, 83, of Nederland, Texas passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Groves. Barbara was born in Church Point, Louisiana to the late Emar Benoit and Edolia (Lavergne) Benoit on August 26, 1938.
Barbara retired from the retail industry and devoted her time as a caregiver to others. She was a hard worker and instilled those values to her children and grandchildren. Barbara was a giver and helped others in many capacities. She was a spunky lady with an attitude. Barbara had an amazing sense of humor that was passed down to her children and grandchildren. She loved dancing and listening to Cajun music. Barbara cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Barney LeBlanc; grandson, Jeremy Hopson; sisters, Joyce Franques and Brenda Bearb; and an infant brother, Eddie Benoit.
Those left behind to cherish Barbara’s memory are her children, Phyllis Parrish of Beaumont; and Mitzi Woods Wilson and husband, Jeff of Beaumont; grandchildren, Corey Hopson and wife, Cindy; Jason Hopson and wife, Ellen; Shannon Barnes and husband, Kris; Justin Woods and wife, Alex; Jarrett Hopson and wife, Tabatha; Christopher Woods, Sean Woods and Jeff LeBlanc; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Verbie Genusso, Neubern Benoit, Junis Pomier and husband, Louis; Donna Richard and husband, Lonnie.
The family of Barbara Hebert would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Magnolia Manor and Christie Jones with Kindred Hospice for the love and care they provided for their mother, Barbara.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Barbara’s Life to begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Serving as pallbearers include Corey Hopson, Jason Hopson, Jarrett Hopson, Justin Woods, Chris Woods and Kris Barnes.
