Barbara Jo Ballard, 77, of Beaumont, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born on October 14, 1940 in Carthage, Texas to Joe Bailey Brown and Lilly Alma Davidson Brown. Barbara was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Groves and was a member of Eastern Star #956 for over 50 years. She was retired from National Guardian as a dispatch supervisor. Barbara was loved by all her family and friends, she hardly ever met a stranger. She was called by many names, Barbara, Mom, Sissy, Nana, Nanny and friend. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Alan Van Hooser officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Christopher "Bubba" Bryan Elliott and her brother, Bobby Gene Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Alaine Ashworth of Fannett, son, Shea Ballard and wife Jan of LaBelle, daughter-in-law, Lettie Elliott of Groves, six grandchildren, Brandi Gibson, Byron Burnham, Dustin Burnham, Jacob Ballard, Julian Ballard and Elisabeth Elliott, five great grandchildren, Lilly Gibson, Bailey Gibson, Brelyn Stiltner, Layton Megues, and Kash Burnham, three nieces, Lori Ellis, Vicki Brown and Michelle Brown Howell and nephew, Michael Brown.
