Barbara Glaze Morgan

1943 ∼ 2015

Barbara Glaze Morgan passed away March 30, 2015 at the SETMC after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in 1943 to Lonzie and Alda Glaze of Pt Arthur, she was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Hotel Dieu School of Nursing. She entered into marriage with John D Morgan Sr, in 1963 that would last for 52 years. Retiring in 1997 from NISD as the school nurse at C.O. Wilson Middle school. She will be remembered dearly by the lives that she touched and the wound's that she healed. Nothing pleased her more, than the joy of seeing comfort in the eyes of someone she helped. Having made, and donated countless afghans for the Neo-Natal unit at St Mary's, she loved to crochet. That was her little gift of hope to a precious soul that she would never meet. Her door was always open for good conversation and you could always count on having a hot cup of coffee at any time of the day. She was a woman of remarkable strength, especially in the final days of uncertainty into the valley of the unknown. She loved her family and she never wavered in her duties as a wife, a mother, and a servant of God. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Morgan Sr, sons, John Morgan Jr and David Morgan of Nederland, 4 grandchildren, Devin Morgan of Nederland, Katlin Morgan of Shurtz, Texas, Kade and Kalah Morgan and their mother Vicki Nixson of Port Neches, and two great grandchildren, Devin Morgan Jr. and Emma Marie Morgan. One brother, Bob Glaze (Patti) of Pt Arthur, and his children Mike Glaze (Tammy) and Jeff Glaze (Bambi). Countless cousins, and many friends. She will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held at Levingston Funeral Home in Pt Neches, on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 2pm.

Barbara was my first cousin by marriage to John Morgan Sr. She was a wonderful, caring person and undeniably loyal to her family and friends. I feel privileged to have known her and will look forward to seeing her again one day when I also cross over into God's heaven and eternity. So sorry my husband and I could not be there with you, David, and the rest of the family to share in the memorial service. God bless you; my beloved cousin, John Sr.; your brother, John Jr.; and all the family which I have yet to meet. Lovingly, Maelinda Shepherd Swanzy
