Barbara Hall Rogers, a devoted Registered Nurse who dedicated 38 years of her life to caring for others, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in Friendswood, Texas. Born on March 16, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, Barbara’s life was a testament to unwavering commitment, compassion, and love for her family and community.
Barbara’s career was marked by her steadfast devotion to the nursing profession, where her tireless efforts and nurturing spirit profoundly impacted countless lives. Her proudest accomplishment was the many years she spent caring for others, embodying the true essence of service as she tended to patients with kindness and dedication. Throughout her career, she was known not only for her professional excellence but also for her gentle and loving nature.
A faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Barbara made her spirituality a cornerstone of her life. She was a loving and caring individual who took joy in looking after those around her. Among her cherished personal pleasures were days spent at the casino with her sister, Patricia, a pastime that brought her great joy.
Barbara’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her children, Lowell D. Rogers and his wife Beth of Beaumont, Douglas “Buddha” Rogers and his wife Sandy of Mont Belvieu, and her daughter, Rebecca Abrego of Port Neches. Her legacy extends through ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of happiness and pride. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Richard Zapf and Lowell Angelle, both of Beaumont, and her sister, Patricia Tooley, and her husband, Gary, of Friendswood.
Barbara was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 63 years, Donald Lee Rogers,her beloved granddaughter, Morgan Lee Rogers, and her brother, Gary M. Angelle.
The community will gather to honor Barbara’s life with a Rosary service at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas, on May 31, 2026, beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy, Nederland, Texas, followed by a graveside service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
