Barbara Wilda Dotsy Provost Bryan Stansbury, 80, of Port Neches formally of Port Acres, died Tuesday, September 10th, 2013 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Msgr. Bennie Patillo officiating. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday with a Scriptural Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM at Melancon’s Funeral in Nederland.
Barbara was born in Varnado, Louisiana and lived most of her life in the Port Arthur area. She retired as a clerk with the Jefferson County Constable Office. Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Bishop Byrne High School, and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches, and a former member of Little flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband and the mother of his children, Virgil Bryan, and her husband, Norwood J. “Bud” Stansbury, and her son, Richard Bryan. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Cozad and her husband, Don of McKinney; her sons, Patrick Bryan and his wife, Andrea of Port Neches, and David Bryan and his wife, Jamie of Fort Worth; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Bryan of Port Neches; her sisters, Rita Tibler and Faye Rawson; also her loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Acres.
