Barbara Sue “Budgie” Holmes, 77, of Nederland, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at her residence.

Barbara was born September 22, 1939 to the late John M. Benson and Edna Yaekle Benson.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Dean Holmes of Nederland, TX; sons, Keith Homes of Nederland and Les Holmes of Livingston, TX; daughters, Tracie Brace Hatton of Houston, and Lisa Holmes Bellow of Port Neches; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothea Moses.

A Memorial service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening, May 12, 2017 at Melancon’s Funeral Home with Rev. John Morgan officiating the service.
