Barbara Jewel Turk, 80, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be 10:00a.m, Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Procter Baptist Church in Port Arthur. Officiating will be Dr. Stephen Dollar. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2022, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Barbara was born on September 27, 1941, in Hawkins, Texas. She was the daughter of Erman Moon and Marie Owen Moon. She was a resident of Nederland for 43 years. She worked for the Port Arthur Independent School District at Franklin Elementary for 32 years. She was an active member in Procter Baptist Church. She also loved shopping on QVC, playing pokeno with friends, and sometimes going to the casino. She also had a special love for dogs.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Guidry and husband Cal of Groves, Texas; bonus son, Jeff Turk and wife Janet of Nederland, Texas; bonus son Roger Turk of Boerne, Texas; bonus daughter, Georgiana Flournoy and husband Patrick of Nederland, Texas; bonus daughter, Paula Metcalf and husband James of Tyler, Texas; bonus daughter, Stacey Folsom and husband Rod of Ringling, Oklahoma; bonus daughter, Marcey Kelly of Haughton, Louisiana; brother, Donald Moon and wife Carol of Nacogdoches, Texas; sister, Sherry Hahn and husband Clint of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Debbie Broussard and husband Rodney of Groves, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce Moon of Conroe, Texas; brother-in-law, Thomas Mann of Lumberton, Texas; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and her beloved “fur” babies, Trixie and Molly.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, George L. Turk and Nolan L. O’Quain; son, Jimi Thibodeaux; brother, Sonny Moon; and sister, Diann Mann.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Mann, Jeremy Rodriguez, Jared Rodriguez, Jordan Broussard, Michael Moon, and Patrick Flournoy.
