Barney Edmon Kitchell

Barney Edmon “Sonny” Kitchell, 77, of Nederland, Texas passed away January 31, 2014 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. He was born in DeQuincy, Louisiana on January 29, 1937 to the late James Edmon and Mildred Mazie Walkner Kitchell. He retired from the railroad and served his country proudly in the Louisiana National Guard.

A memorial service will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. with Msgr. Bennie Patillo officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Girlie Ruth LeBlanc Kitchell. He is survived by his daughters, Pam Kitchell of Port Neches and Melissa Matt and husband, Kevin of Houston; his son, Michael Kitchell and wife, Debbie of Port Neches; grandchildren, Brittney Kitchell, Joey Durso, Ashli Matt, Dylan Kitchell, Kayla Matt, Brittany Craddock, Ashleigh Craddock, and Joshua Craddock; and 4 great-grandchildren.
