Beatrice Marie (Toups) Chauvin, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence in Groves, Texas. She was surrounded by her cherished family, marking the end of a life richly lived. Beatrice was born on October 17, 1929, in Erath, Louisiana, and passed away on February 26, 2024.
In her lifetime, Beatrice crafted unforgettable memories through her culinary skills as a great cook. She found joy in watching game shows, with "The Price Is Right" holding a special place in her heart. Traveling with her Louisiana family brought her immense happiness and created lasting bonds.
Beyond her hobbies and interests which included gardening and showcasing a green thumb for vegetables, Beatrice's dedication to faith and family shone brightly. She adored caring for her grandchildren and took pride in volunteering at Catholic Charities and the Hospitality Center – truly embodying the values of compassion and service. She was not only a caregiver to her family, but an exceptional private caregiver to the elderly.
Beatrice is survived by her beloved children, Deborah C. Robison and husband John of Groves, Texas, Stephen M. Chauvin and wife Barbara of Groves, Texas; Marian C. Burt and husband Randall of Groves, Texas; and Philip Chauvin and wife Erica of Bridge City, Texas; granddaughters, Nicole Chauvin, Catherine Chauvin, Kelsey Burt Love and husband Cameron; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Violet, Jackson, Luca.
In reminiscing about Beatrice's life, it is also important to honor those who have preceded her in death. She joins her parents, Edia (Vincent) Toups and Dupra Toups; husband, Maldred M. Chauvin; grandson, Stephen Chauvin Jr.; as well as brothers, Vernis Toups, Lorres (Joe) Toups Sr., Robert Toups in eternal peace.
The impact of Beatrice's kindness reverberates through the lives she touched and the memories she created. A Christian Vigil will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesdsay, February 28, 2024, at Melancon Levingston in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Immaculate Conception/St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with celebrant, Father J.C. Coon. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
