Beatrice Crawford, 98, of Vidor and formerly of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor, Texas.
Beatrice was born on August 11, 1924, in Kentwood, Louisiana to Thelma Hammons Hughes and Redo Hughes. She was a wife, mother, grandma, MoMo, Granny B, Bumblebee and a homemaker who loved her family dearly. Beatrice was a former member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland. and Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor. During the World War II Beatrice worked at the shipyard and even sang in the shipyard band. She was a former florist at Barnett’s Florist in Nederland. and later, volunteered at the Vidor Public Library. Beatrice was also a very talented artist. She loved painting anything. However, oil paintings were her most enjoyable style of painting.
Beatrice had a large and loving family. Especially having a deep love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Crawford and his wife Pat of Vidor.
Ten grandchildren; Shirley LeDoux, Laurie Boyett, Randie Ann Crawford, Cathy Crawford, Carole Crawford, Wesley Day, Stacy Barnes, Kent Crawford, Jason Crawford, Cody Crawford.
Beatrice also had, 16 great grandchildren, 10 great, great grandchildren and 1 great, great, great grandchild.
Our family would like to thank the staff of Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor, Texas, for going above and beyond for giving the best care our beloved Beatrice deserved and received.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Alton Crawford, Sr.; her son, Marvin Alton Crawford, Jr. and her daughter, Glenda Crawford Day.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland.
