Belinda Gale Landry, 73, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in Port Arthur, Texas. She touched the lives of many with her unwavering compassion and understanding. She was known for her open-hearted nature, always ready to lend a listening ear and offer wise counsel to those in need. Her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Belinda was born on August 29, 1950. Throughout her life, she not only excelled in her career as a special education teacher with the Port Arthur Independent School District, but also found joy in various hobbies and interests such as dancing, drawing, spending quality time with loved ones, and then she never missed a chance to visit one of her favorite casinos.
In her role as a teacher, Belinda's impact extended far beyond the classroom. She exuded qualities of love, happiness, and fun which resonated deeply with everyone she encountered. Her legacy of kindness and warmth will continue to inspire generations to come.
Belinda is preceded in death by her parents, W.T. Whittlesey and Willie Bernice Wheeler Whittlesey; her beloved husband, Clifton Joseph "C.J." Landry Jr.; sister, Elvie Annette Freeman; brother, Francis "Frank" Whittlesey; and her niece, Donna Bartz. While we mourn her passing on earth, we find solace in knowing that she is surrounded by eternal peace.
Left to honor Belinda's memory are her surviving family members and friends. Her daughter, Gala Michelle Landry and her husband, Andre Moore of Beaumont, Texas; son, Lucas Landry of Beaumont, Texas; Andrea Landry Crutchfield and her husband, Nathaniel Richardson of Orange, Texas and her bonus daughter, Brenia Gary Sharpe of Winnie, Texas; grandchildren, Dominique Jarron Celestine, Channing Hall, Devyn Stelly, Draidyn Moore, Drailyn Moore, Jonna Llanes, John Sharpe, Kristie Sharpe and Cory Head; great-grandchildren Kamryn, Alexander, Chance, Grayson, Justice, Chrislynn, Emery, Landon, Trinity, along with the Moore Family Children; and Belinda's special friend, Glen Labry.
A gathering of Belinda's family and friends will be held at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 1:00pm-3:00pm with the funeral service to begin at 3:00pm.
