Ben E. Burt, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018.

Ben was born in Huntsville, Texas on July 23, 1939 to the late, Glen Burt and Margie Brown Burt.

Ben was the owner/operator of Burt Printing Company for over 30 years and he volunteered as a coach with Little League Baseball.

Those left to cherish Ben’s memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Carole Burt of Groves, Texas; son, Randall Burt and wife, Marian of Groves; daughter, Rhonda Pruitt and husband, Robert of Mauriceville, Texas; brother, Glen Ray Burt and wife, Anna of Bryan, Texas; daughter-in-law, Cristal Burt of Vidor, Texas; grandchildren, Scott Burt, Kelsey Burt, Ashlynn Burt, Austin Pruitt and Morgan Pruitt; great-grandson, Karsen Burt, and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to his parents, Ben is preceded in death by his son, Darrell Burt.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Monday evening, August 13, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, August 14, 2018, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
