Benjamin G. Weber, 83, of Groves died Saturday, January 9th, 2016 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by his family while watching his beloved football game. Ben was a graduate of Carencro High School in Louisiana. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed at Texaco for 41 years. Ben was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves. Ben loved sports, fishing and going to church. He coached for many years at Groves National Little League. He also enjoyed visiting the nursing homes in the Mid-County area. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Leonie Weber; his brother, Carroll Weber and his beloved dog, Pete. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Margaret; daughter, Nancy Hardy of Groves, TX; daughter, Patty Susan Schultz and husband Eric of Friendswood, TX; daughter, Amy Gil and husband Russell of Groves, TX; son, Chris Weber of Port Arthur, TX; son Ben Weber and wife Marisa of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Nathan, Sarah, Justin, Hannah, Katherine, Aubrey, Annie, Alexis, Jack, Chloe, Reid and Daniel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Southeast Texas Humane Society in memory of Ben Weber. We would like to thank the staff at Gentiva Hospice for their care. Most importantly, a big thank you to his second family at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home for all the love and care you gave to Ben these past 3 years.

When I was a young boy my dad, who worked with Ben, added on to our house and Ben floated the sheetrock. I always remembered how nice he was and later I had the privilege to work with Ben myself at Texaco. We had some great conversations. Rest in peace Ben.
