Dr. Benny Fontana Sr., 87, of Port Arthur passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Melancon39s Funeral, 1605 Ave. H in Nederland with Rev. Stephen McCrate officiating.Dr. Fontana was a native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur. He practiced Denistry in Port Arthur for many years, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.He is survived by his wife Katherine Fontana of Port Arthur two sons, Brian Fontana and his wife Robin, and Benny Fontana Jr. and his wife Sandy six grandchildren, Meredith, Alec, Kristen, Courtney, Allison, and Allysa one sister, Margaret Del Giacco sistersinlaw, Virginia Fontana of Bryan, and Francis Fontana of Port Arthur numerous nieces and nephews also loved, Jennifer Fontana of Cedar Park.

Kat it has been such a long time but I think of you and Benny often. He was so funny, we had some fun times together. I still wonder if you touch your toes when you bend over. You did it so effortlessly. I know Darrell would be there if he could but he cant communicate so Darrell Wayne wont let him embaress himself. He understands but cant talk. I will never forget the fond memories of Benny. He was a one of the most fun people to be around. He was able to effortlessly make everyone else have a good time.
